I've never used the [TestCase] attributes before, but this certainly would be a way of achieving triangulation for data-centric generalization concerns. This wouldn't work for all cases though. In some cases, you may need to triangulate behavior based upon a different sequences of actions altogether.

Those were originally '', but Wordpress seems to be stripping them out. I imagine that would have been a little confusing. The source should look correct now. Thanks for pointing it out.

Do you think that you could use NUnit's [TestCase] or [TestCaseSource] attributes to facilitate triangulation? That way you could specify a single test but with multiple inputs that would show the generalized behavior. I don't know if other testing frameworks have something similar, but it might help to avoid the additional test that doesn't add anything meaningful beyond highlighting a needed generalization.

Great post, I've been looking for something like this to go in-depth through the process of creating (semi) real-world code, rather than the FizzBuzz examples that are out there that don't show anything useful.

One question though, I was a bit thrown by the empty char literals ('') - did you intend these to be a space char (' ')?

The word "It" refers to the System Under Test (SUT) and is a common concept across several frameworks (e.g. RSpec, MSpec, others?). This probably does seem less clear in this context given we have the freedom to specify the SUT explicitly, but I've chosen to use it here for style uniformity with an upcoming article in this series.
