imho it’s best to turn browser auto-fill off for input fields for which you wish to supply autocompletion suggestions. %input{:autocomplete => ‘off’} if you’re using haml.

Using input/onInput is probably going to be an inadequate solution as its pretty crap in IE.

What you want is the `input` event.

(Also, none of this has anything to do with jQuery…)

Pasting a value by right-clicking and selecting “Paste” in the textbox also doesn’t fire a keyup event, so that’s another reason not to rely only on the keyup event.
