totally right. a front end template engine is not required, but when combined with signalR the amount of code you need to maintain really drops down to the bare essentials.

The solution did not require using KnockoutJS but the code was greatly simplified using knockout.

I use Active Home sdk to connect to the hardware over x10 http://www.x10.com/activehomepro/sdk/index.html. I will create a post about the details of working with x10..

I thnk he need need hardware implemented with it , and may be a webserver.
design it in theory is more easer than implementation
