@Nick Gieschen, @Hadi Hariri - I actually prefer the term "divide and reign" that Gabriel used.

Conquer suggests that once the conquering is complete, there's nothing else to be done. This fits very well with the sorting algorithms with which it is normally associated. Once the sort is complete, the problem has been conquered (past tense.).

Reign suggests an ongoing mechanism of some sort and seems to fit much better with the MVC type patterns.

@Gabriel - Many thanks for this post, I've found it to be very enlightening. I only found lostechies a couple of days ago but I'm already a fan.

Gabriel good post. The term is divide and conquer and has been applied in software for a long time to solve complex problems. In typical example is binary sort.

@Przemyslaw, @Mark

We've submitted a bug with Google Reader. Gabriel's posts show in our straight feedburner feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/lostechies) and even in my FireFox toolbar RSS item.

Thank you for the information. We'll keep you posted.

Gabriel,
Your post is great, but it didn't show in main LosTechies feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/LosTechies?format=xml). Can you look into this issue? I do not want to miss other such valuable posts :)

@David, @freddy, @Evgeny: I just wanted to concentrate on SRP. One thing at a time. So no DI, IoC and so on. I will probably have some more posts where I will discuss those very important patterns
